K&P COMPUTER INCREASES ANNUAL RESULT BY 5.5 PERCENT
35 YEARS OF SUCCESSFUL COMPANY HISTORY

/////////////////////////

Wiesbaden, 16th June 2020 +++ K&P Computer, headquartered in Wiesbaden, one of the leading IT service companies in Germany (www.kpc.de), has increased its annual result 2019 by 5.5 percent compared to the previous year. The total turnover was 29.9 million euro, which is an increase of 3.5 percent compared to 2018. In its core area of IT maintenance, the Wiesbaden-based company serves 3,046 corporate customers – 5.3 percent more than in the previous year. Revenue in the Managed Services business area even grew by 24.4 percent. In addition, K&P Computer records an order plus of 8.5 percent in the IT project business. Among the newly won projects, a high share is allocated to virtualisations or the modernisation of IT infrastructures. These positive developments will continue in 2020. This year K&P Computer celebrates its 35 years anniversary and looks optimistically into the future, despite the current dynamic market situation.

In the last three and a half decades K&P Computer has developed to a global IT full service provider. With the strategic partnership concluded in 2019 with Curvature – the world’s largest third party maintenance (TPM) and cross-vendor network and data center IT lifecycle services provider – the company is sending a clear signal for the further expansion of its international maintenance business. The dynamic growth of K&P Computer is also reflected in the constant expansion of the service spectrum. Recently, the new services KPC Managed Cloud Firewall and KPC Managed Workplace have completed the portfolio. K&P Computer thus reacts to the continuously increasing demand for Managed Services. Companies increasingly decide for Cloud Services and Shared Infrastructure in order to relieve the own IT department and to concentrate on their core business. More and more customers are transferring the operational responsibility for internal IT processes to the IT service provider, either in partial areas or for their entire IT. K&P Computer uses for software and backup services among others the in-house, TÜViT certified data centre in Wiesbaden. There are also innovations in the area of IT maintenance. Recently, the Wiesbaden-based company has also started to offer the maintenance of cash register systems and has already been able to convince well-known customers of this service.

IBM Award in the anniversary year

On the 6th of May this year IBM honored K&P Computer with the IBM Bestseller Award in the category “Commercial Champion” at the online technology congress Think 2020. With this award, the outstanding achievements of the long-time IBM Business Partner are once again recognized in a special way. The conference, which was originally planned with 30,000 participants in San Francisco, was held as an online event due to the current COVID-19 situation. The award ceremony to the prize winner K&P Computer took place via livestream.

Unrestricted services despite COVID-19

Even in the current time of crisis K&P Computer offers unlimited IT support. Besides the growing demand for Managed and Cloud Services, K&P Computer observes a changed customer behaviour in consequence of COVID-19. Companies have become more reserved with investments in new IT infrastructure. Instead they extend their existing maintenance contracts in order to close investment gaps without endangering the running IT operation. In this exceptional period, the IT service provider is supporting its customers in a spirit of partnership, even outside of existing contracts, for example with shortened contract periods. To keep hardware costs low, more customers are also looking for used, refurbished IT equipment. Through its partner network K&P Computer has worldwide access to refurbished goods with lifetime warranty. If new hardware is still in demand, the service provider also offers rental or leasing possibilities. In addition, his IT specialists support those clients who are now experiencing personnel shortages, either on-site or remote. Monitoring solutions such as KPC watch® and backup solutions such as KPC Veeam Cloud Connect are also in greater demand than ever. Last but not least K&P Computer has extended the web seminar offer in the K&P Tech Academy, for example on the topics IBM i, Managed Workplace or IT maintenance.

A special anniversary year

“We can look back on 35 years of successful company history, of which I am very proud,” says CEO Karl-Peter Münkel. “I would like to thank all our employees for their commitment and loyalty. This anniversary year is a special one for all of us. The COVID-19 pandemic represents a historic break that will bring about noticeable changes in almost every area of our lives. Thanks to our crisis-proof business model, we have mastered the last few weeks and months very well – short-time work or even staff cuts were never measures that we should have considered at any time. On the contrary: it has proven once again that our customers count on our support and that we are well positioned for the future with our innovative range of services. I am grateful for this and look forward to the next 35 years of K&P Computer.”
