GDPR compliant data destruction
Methods of data destruction
From a data protection perspective, GDPR-compliant data destruction is essential, i.e., the use of secure data deletion procedures for all types of storage media. When selling, scrapping, returning, or otherwise transferring IT systems, external or mobile storage media, access to stored data must be excluded. Even defective storage media still contain data that, in many cases, can be recovered by specialists. Below are the methods we have successfully used for our customers for many years.
Software Deletion
All data is overwritten multiple times by eraser software using different algorithms or random numbers.
Degausser
In a Degausser, the data carrier is exposed to a strong magnetic field, causing it to lose its magnetic polarization.
Shredder
Mechanical destruction by deforming and shredding the storage media in a shredder according to DIN 66399. Stationary in Wiesbaden or on-site at your location.
KPC Secure
Correct data erasure is still a very neglected topic in many companies. Only about half of all companies in Germany use a professional solution for the destruction of electronic data. Depending on the requirements, there are different methods to delete or destroy storage media.
Regardless of whether it’s for sale, scrapping, return, or any other transfer of IT equipment, external, or mobile storage media, it must be ensured that access to stored data is always excluded. Please note that even defective storage media still contain data that can often be recovered by specialists.
With our “KPC Secure” service, our trained staff offers you reliable and secure methods for destroying your confidential data. This includes software deletion, degaussing and shredding in accordance with DIN 66399. Shredding can be done either at our central facility in Wiesbaden or as a mobile service at your location.
