Spoofing
What is spoofing?
Spoofing is a technique used by attackers to fake false identities in order to gain trust or manipulate systems. Common types of spoofing are email spoofing, IP spoofing and DNS spoofing. Attackers use this method to steal sensitive information or spread malware.
Protective measures and risks
Spoofing can lead to data loss, identity theft and financial damage. Companies and private individuals can protect themselves by using email filters, firewalls, encryption and verifying the authenticity of communication partners. Awareness training for employees is also important in order to recognize phishing attacks and other spoofing methods at an early stage.
