Remote Hands
What are remote hands?
Remote hands are on-site services in data centers or technical locations where simple physical tasks are carried out on behalf of a remote IT team. These include replacing hardware, cabling work or visual inspections.
Classification: Benefits and delimitation
Remote hands are used when no on-site personnel are available or rapid physical intervention is required. The advantages are short response times and lower travel costs. Risks exist with more complex tasks that require in-depth system knowledge. The added value lies in flexible support for IT operations and ensuring that maintenance and repair measures can also be carried out at remote locations.
