A keylogger is a tool or device that keystrokes often without the user’s knowledge. Keyloggers can be used in Hardware– or Software form and are used both for legitimate purposes as the monitoring of productivity as well as malicious purposes such as the theft of Passwords or sensitive data used.

To protect against keyloggers, users should Antivirus software, firewall protection and multi-factor authentication use. Regular updates and an attentive behavior when opening files or links minimize the risk of infection.
