Hardware refresh

What is a hardware refresh?
A hardware refresh describes the planned replacement of IT hardware after a defined period of use, regardless of an acute defect. The aim is to ensure the long-term performance, security and supportability of the IT infrastructure.

Classification: Added value and strategic importance
Hardware refreshes are primarily used in professional IT environments and managed services. They enable plannable investments, reduce security risks from outdated systems and avoid unplanned downtime. The added value lies in more stable operating processes, better planning of maintenance and support and the ability to introduce modern technologies in a targeted manner. A lack of a refresh cycle, on the other hand, increases the risk of EOL-related outages and rising maintenance costs.
