End of Service (EOS)

What does End of Service mean?
End of Service (EOS) refers to the point at which a manufacturer discontinues active support for a product. As a rule, no new functions, enhancements or regular maintenance services are provided after EOS. Security updates or limited support may – depending on the manufacturer – still be available for a limited period of time.

Risks and need for action
Products with EOS status are in a transition phase towards the end of full support. Companies should use this phase to plan migrations, upgrades or replacement solutions. If EOS is ignored, the risk of technological stagnation, limited manufacturer support and future security problems increases.
