Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)

What is a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)?
A Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is a structured emergency plan that defines measures and processes to quickly restore IT systems after serious disruptions or disasters. The aim is to continue business operations within defined time and recovery targets.

Areas of application and benefits
DRPs are used in mission-critical IT environments, data centers and managed service scenarios. They minimize risks from hardware failures, cyber attacks or natural disasters. The added value lies in shorter restart times, increased resilience and the safeguarding of business-critical processes. Missing or untested DRPs, on the other hand, represent a significant operational and liability risk.
