it-zoom: K&P Computer joins forces with Blue Consult

Positive sales development in the 1st half of the year

DV-Dialog, Issue 7-8/2020 By: Berthold Wesseler

On June 5, K&P Computer acquired the Krefeld-based Blue Consult GmbH and Blue Smart Services GmbH group of companies. The new CEO in Krefeld is Dirk Müller, who also remains CTO at K&P Computer. Dirk Köhler, who is now COO at the IT systems and consulting company after 25 years as an IBM executive, is now responsible for the operational business at Blue Consult.

Blue Consult GmbH, an IT systems and consulting company headquartered in Krefeld, has appointed Dirk Köhler as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, he will be responsible for operations, overseeing sales and marketing activities and coordinating the ecosystem of the new subsidiary of Wiesbaden-based IT service provider K&P Computer. Prior to his move, Dirk Köhler worked at IBM for more than 25 years.

New management for Blue Consult

Most recently, Köhler was Director of Commercial & CSP, where he was responsible for sales for SMEs and cloud service providers in the DACH region. In other positions at IBM, he was Director of Storage Solutions for the storage business and Director of STG Sales for the Systems Hardware Group – both in the DACH region. “With Dirk Köhler, we have gained a very experienced manager with extensive experience in the market. He has an excellent network in the IT industry, outstanding expertise and the necessary pragmatism. Dirk Köhler’s valuable know-how ideally complements our management board. We are very much looking forward to successfully continuing our company’s growth agenda together with him,” explains Dirk Müller, CTO at K&P Computer and new CEO of Blue Consult.

Encouraging development in the first half of the year despite Covid-19

“Despite turbulent times, I am looking forward to my new role with great anticipation and optimism,” says Dirk Köhler. “Blue Consult is strategically well positioned, enjoys an excellent reputation and has outstanding expertise. These are ideal prerequisites for expanding its position as a leading systems and consulting company in the German market and for further growth. Playing a leading role in shaping this is a highly exciting task that I am very much looking forward to.”
Since 2004, Blue Consult GmbH has been supporting its customers as a vendor-independent IT systems and consulting company in the areas of IT infrastructure and data centers – from classic IT consulting to conceptual design and organization through to ongoing support for their IT landscapes. The company employs more than 65 people at its locations in Krefeld, Hamburg and Cologne as well as in several sales and technical branches. As a managed service provider, Blue Consult provides a range of cloud solutions for the customer’s entire IT landscape – and manages its IT services 24/7, depending on the service level.
The most important statement on the takeover can be found on the homepage of both system houses: “All companies will remain completely autonomous in their organizational structure and will continue to be available to you as full-service IT providers as usual. Of course, the transfer of expertise will result in benefits for you as a customer.” The companies’ complementary range of services is explicitly mentioned, as K&P Computer focuses on international IT maintenance, 24/7 call centers, managed services and IT projects, while Blue Consult focuses primarily on cloud solutions, SAP S/4 Hana, digitalization and infrastructure. Together, both companies want to increasingly become the single point of contact for their customers’ data centers. The contact persons on both sides will continue to be available as usual – and all contracts will remain unchanged. All contractual components remain unaffected.

“Contrary to the market trend and despite turbulent Covid-19 times, we were able to further increase our sales in the first half of the year,” Felix Asgari, CSO at K&P Computer, told DV-Dialog. “We expect this trend to continue in the second half of the year – especially in light of our crisis-proof business concept and the expanded portfolio in the areas of SAP and cloud through the acquisition of the Blue Consult group of companies. The combination of stability, digital innovation and commitment makes us a reliable and future-proof partner for our customers, but also an attractive employer.”
